What is your title?

I am a Computer Scientist in the Edison Engineering Development Program

Which lab are you a part of?

Knowledge Discovery Lab

What is your expertise?

During graduate school I began studying Data Management techniques, including areas within the NoSQL domain and did work with High Performance Computing techniques to process data efficiently and in a scalable manner.

How long have you been at GE?

Just over one year now!

Where did you receive your education?

I received my undergraduate degree from Siena College and my MS in Computer Science from SUNY Albany.

What are you working on now?

Right now my focus is on in-memory, real-time analytics combined with Big Data solutions for efficient, scalable and reliable data storage and processing.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’d have to say my first publication! It took almost a full year to get the results, the proper language and come up with the idea that no one else had done before. Plus, it won “Best Publication” from SUNY Albany; I was a co-winner with a PhD graduate.

Where did you grow up?

Local boy! Grew up and lived in the Albany/Schenectady/Niskayuna area.

What is your favorite Website?

This is tough, it’s a toss up between www.espn.com and www.pandora.com.

What is your hobby?

I’m not sure it’s an official hobby, but I do love hiking and heading to the gym. Anything that will keep me active when I’m not at work is awesome!

What type of music do you listen to while you are working?

Everything! I listen to Rock (all sorts), Rap, R&B, Jazz…but I do my best to avoid Country and Opera.
