GE Aviation’s China Engineering team is a multi-functional team, working on manufacturing support for aircraft engine, aviation systems and the ARJ21 China Regional Jet integration program.
- The Aviation manufacturing engineering teams at CTC work closely with China suppliers, U.S. sourcing and the engineering team to ensure the components manufactured by China suppliers will be delivered fully complied with GE specifications. With CTC engineering’s support, Aviation sourcing volume in China has grown rapidly from $16 million in 2003 to more than $300 million.
- With GE’s acquisition of Smiths Aerospace, the CTC engineering team is now providing supplier evaluation, special process control, and first article inspection for Aviation Mechanical Systems. CTC is continuing to grow its electrical power and avionic system design capability in China.
- The ARJ21 team focuses on integration between aircraft engine and aircraft itself, contributing to this great program by providing technical support on trade-off design study, problem resolution, troubleshooting, component/rig test, and certification / flight test.
