A new sleigh for Santa… courtesy of GE technology

Anil Duggal

GE Global Research has made it a tradition each year to showcase our latest and greatest technology developments during the holiday season. Last year, we had a lot of fun showcasing the first-ever OLED Christmas tree using GE’s flexible OLED panels. As this year’s season approached we started wondering how we could ever top last year’s creativity.

Then, we had a flash of brilliance. Why not design a new sleigh for Santa Claus? After all, we do have cool technology that could make Santa’s life a lot easier. That’s when I invited my colleagues to join in on this challenge. Together we developed, what we believe, is Santa’s sleigh of the future, featuring 10 Global Research technologies that could improve Santa’s experience.

Please take a look – it’s an interactive website where you can mouse over the 3-D sleigh to get details on all the new features that we designed. You can also share Santa’s sleigh with your friends and help spread the holiday cheer!

Happy Holidays from the GE Global Research team!

InfraTec designs and manufactures pyroelectric detectors in Dresden Germany for gas and flame detection in our clients sensors. One of your energy divisions is investigating the use of one detectors to warn of pole failures in hydroelectric generators. I am thinking this same potential failure could occure in nuclear, wind and locomotive power generators. What R&D center would handle each of these, and can I obtain an engineering contact to send information to about out technology? Thanks, Roy Goodloe – Texas

That widget is really really cool…nice work and cool ideas!

I have this idea on how people could help save energy and money. espeicially at holidays

Cool web graphics, user interface and links!
